FAQ - What Are These Made Of?

One of the first things customers do when they approach our booth is touch our scarves. They are always curious about the softness of each accessory and how it will feel against their skin. Their first question is, "What are these made of?"

Our necklets, eyeglass chains, waterfall scarves, and other lighter weight accessories are made out of 100% nylon thread. We generally use a 3 ply thread which better handles the size and weight of the beads. A few of our colors are only available in a 2 ply which limits the styles for which we can use them. There is a wide variety of colors available.

Our heavier weight scarves are made out of an acrylic based yarn. Some have a metallic thread running through them as well as other synthetic fibers. Again, there are a variety of colors available. If you don't see one that you like, simply ask. We love custom orders!

All styles are hand washable and are very soft against your skin. The wide loops also make each design very lightweight and comfortable to wear for a day at the office or date night.

People also pick up our pine needle baskets and comment on how firm and sturdy they are. Baking the needles, using long leaf pine needles, firm stitches and wide coils to hold them together, and sealing each basket with polyurethane all help to create a sturdy basket which will be useful for years to come.

We use the same nylon thread that is used for our accessories to accent and hold the pine needles together in our baskets. View a new shipment of pine needles in the photo below.

FAQ - Do These Bracelets Stretch Out?

Your bracelet was made on a loom using a 2 or 3 ply nylon thread. While the loops tend to stretch a bit there is not a lot of stretchiness to the bracelet itself. It is for this reason that bracelet sizing is important.

Because the bracelet does not have any clasps it simply slides on and off your hand and is supposed to hug your wrist. It should be snug as it slides over your hand.

After frequently taking your bracelets on and off you may find that your bracelet is larger than was originally purchased. When this happens simply put a bit of soap in the palm of your hand. Add a bit of water and scrub your bracelet in your hand. Rinse in cold water then scrunch in a ball to dry. This will refresh your bracelet.

Once your bracelet is dry it is advised that you put a drop of clear drying glue on the knot behind the connecting bead. Frequent washing can deterioriate the glue that holds the knot in place.

Swimming or bathing while wearing your bracelet is not recommended as your bracelet will stretch out and may fall off. If you do forget to remove your bracelet before entering the water, simply scrunch it in a ball to dry then apply that drop of glue once it has dried.

Easy to care for and fun to wear! Your bracelets should give you many years of enjoyment!
